Oscar LaDell is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who brings a timeless vulnerability to his music. Hailing originally from Denver Colorado, LaDell grew up in Purakaunui in the South of Aotearoa. Drawing from the moody and poignant scenes of his home, LaDell writes, plays and sings with depth. Supporting Oscar at Open Studio will be French alt-pop/alternative artists Ella Lewis and Kilian Islan. Ella Lewis combines incisive, honest lyricism with a gorgeous voice and an inventive use of harmony to entrance the listener. Kilian Islan draws from diverse influences such as Radiohead and Frank Ocean to create evocative, expansive soundscapes with messages brought home by his emotive vocals.
